Hello and long time no see. Well, it's only been a week but that's long enough. So what has been going on with me? Well, so far on Tuesdays Travis and I have had to make a long trek (about an hour and a half drive) to Chicago to get my vitals checked because I have been on a clinical trial for my cancer. I have been taking pills called Regorafenib. I take 4 pills daily and they are suppose to inhibit the growth of blood vessels to the tumors so they don't grow. So far I haven't been having any weird symptoms which I think is great thing. I haven't had any pain and if it wasn't for the fact that I suffer from withdraws, then I wouldn't need to take my morphine. The swelling in my legs and feet have gone down and they look like normal feet and legs!!!
I haven't lost my appetite, my voice hasn't changed (they said it might, although it has been a little scratchy), my joints don't hurt, I don't have dry skin patches on my feet, I'm not sleepy, and I haven't been losing hair, nothing out of the ordinary has happened but having to go pee every five minutes on some days, oh and I still have numbness in my foot and some times still get tingling in my leg. The doctor said I made her day the last time we were there. Let's hope that that means it's working and that soon I will be in remission.
For the Fourth of July Travis and I went up to his parents' house. We are staying for four days. His brother and his wife and two kids are visiting from Poland for the month. We had a nice cook out yesterday (hamburgers, brats, corn dogs, corn on the cob, Jello and cake) and went swimming, then around dusk we did some ground fireworks. It was a nice night and I actually slept in the bed the whole night. Which is saying a lot for me because for about the last month I have been sleeping in a recliner.
I have also been able to walk up the stairs on the deck to sit outside and I have been able to walk up the stairs to sit in the kitchen to do crafts with my niece. We did decoupage, crocheted and made jewelry. I haven't been able to do this in a long time and so it's nice to be able to hopefully start doing stuff again. Most of all I will maybe get to start driving again, well that is if my doctor says I can. *Fingers crossed*
Anyway, I think that it's about time for me to log off and go and take me a nap. We will be doing some more fireworks with the kids tonight and maybe make some S'mores and maybe watch Travis and everybody else go swimming. I know what you're thinking, "well that's not cool you have to just sit and watch," well It's really okay I have to get a special tape to go over my colostomy bag so it doesn't get wet and maybe float off. Even though I shower with it on and it seems to do okay. I also don't have a swimsuit with me. I have to buy another one some time soon since they have sales now.
Well okay this is where I end. I wish you all the best and I am glad you had a happy and safe fourth of July.....if you celebrated it anyway. Well bye-bye. Take care!
