I know it's been at least a week since I have last written and for that, I am sorry. Since I last wrote not very much has happened. I had to get another transfusion because my counts were low....again. I had to get two bags of blood. My heart rate has been slowly going down. The last time I saw it it was around 100 so that is a lot better than the 128 or 180 that it has been.
I didn't get to go to the clinical trial again because of my counts being low. It's a little disappointing because of that fact that I want this cancer to leave. I also haven't had chemo in a little over a month. Thankfully, knock on wood, none of my tumors have grown or spread so as much as that's a good thing, I still wish I had the chemo to keep the pain at bay.
Saturday and last night I was in excruciating pain. Saturday I had pain in my lower back (where my tumors are) and I had pain in my hip and knee (because of the nerve that is being compressed). I was bawling my eyes out and on the verge of hyperventilating. I took my instant release morphine (it's supposed to kick in after 15 minutes) and I took some Aleve PM and rubbed some Tiger Balm and Icy Hot on the areas and used a heating pad on my back and after a couple of hours the pain finally went away. I think it was around 2:00 AM when my step mom and Travis finally got me to sleep.
Last night I again had pain, but this time it was in my hip and lower back. I did the Icy Hot roll on again and I took my instant release pills (this time I had around 12 of them since they are only 15 MG), I also took some Aleve PM and I again used the heating pad. I was crying so loud this time because I was in more pain than last time. I was worried my neighbors were thinking I was being murdered or something with how loud I was. Thankfully after about two hours the pain went away, This time it was a reasonable hour, I think it was around midnight. Instead of reclining in the recliner and sleeping there like I did the last time, I slept sitting up because when I would recline my hip would start to hurt again. I was kind of pissed because I wanted to sleep in our bed, but hey as long as I wasn't in pain I didn't care.
So yah, that's what's been going on. Nothing too exciting, just trying to keep my sanity. Now I am just waiting on a nurse to call me back saying that my prescription is ready to be picked up so I can go get more of my instant release Morphine because I am almost out, but I have a funny feeling I won't get a call today. Oh well, hopefully tomorrow.
Anyway, thanks for continually reading and for all of your patience between my posts. Life sure does get crazy around here. Now I think it might be time for a nap, but we'll see. Maybe I will do a puzzle or make some jewelry instead. *Shrug* Who knows?....
